Six Month Challenge: End of Week 13

21 – 27 February 2021

It’s now been two weeks since I’ve had a full-time job… now I’m a nanny to myself. I make sure I’m fed, bathed, okay okay I’m kidding. I’m definitely doing more than just that.

I’m still going back and forth on what I want to do career-wise. I have been thinking a lot about myself and who I’ve become over the last nine months. I am not the same person I was in May of 2020, and I’m definitely not the same person I was in August 2019 (when I started my old job).

I used to be a pushover who would let people take advantage of her generosity, someone who would put herself last if even at all because all of her self-respect, value, and worth came from the validation of other people. Once I started saying no and putting up boundaries, I started pissing people off because they weren’t getting what they wanted anymore at my expense.

Now I am a person who has respect for myself. My value comes from within. I no longer work 80 hour weeks. I work out seven days a week and eat multiple times a day. Weird concept right?

I’m still working on more things to love myself, but a work in progress is better than nothing at all.

Whatever I end up doing next needs to serve who I’ve become as a human. It needs to be something I can do and be proud of but also understand the boundaries that work is not my life. It shouldn’t be anyone’s life.

There are so many things in this world that I want to see and do and experience. From as small as being able to tie my shoes to as big as visiting Europe and Australia/New Zealand. I want to see the snow sculptures in Japan and speak German in Germany.

Life is too short to spend it in a cubicle.

Got some PRs this week, staying focused on the workouts and not being at home or worrying about not finding a job.
