It’s that time of the year again. New Year’s Resolutions. Ideas of goals that people want to stick to that are supposed to make them better people. Whether it’s changing jobs, losing weight or something else in that category, people slip back into their regular routines.
Look at me. I’ve been trying to lose weight since I was 14. Though every year I constantly struggle because my passion for work always wins over being active and taking time to adequately prepare nutrition for myself.
In the last year, two creatives have actually died from working too much. I don’t really want that to be me. So, this year I am going to change my priorities. I believe (hopefully) that’s where the change becomes habit or the new norm.
Work has to be pushed down the priority list because if I continue down this road, I won’t even be healthy enough to work and frankly that is just pathetic.
What are some of my priorities for 2014?
- Getting up and going to the gym Monday – Friday for an hour workout. It doesn’t matter what I do, but the morning hour is solely for cardio. Most likely swimming, until I get bored. That happens quickly.
- Leaving work at 5:30PM at least three nights a week.
- Taking my lunch every day except for Fridays. Fridays I am allowed to eat out, though I can not spend over $15 for lunch.
